adecuado, adjective:
suitable; right

Adecuado means suitable or right. It doesn’t mean ‘adequate’, so it is another of those Spanish ‘false friends’.

No es la ropa más adecuada para ir a una boda.
They aren’t the most suitable clothes to wear to a wedding.

el hombre adecuado para el puesto
the right man for the job

Has llegado en el momento adecuado.
You’ve arrived at just the right moment.
