frío, adjective:
cold
Like cold, has both a literal and a non-literal meaning. Literally, it describes how hot — or not — something is:
Tengo las manos frías.
My hands are cold.
El agua está muy fría.
The water’s very cold.
Non-literally it refers to people’s attitudes and personalities.
Era frío y calculador.
He was cold and calculating.
Los ingleses tienen fama de ser muy fríos.
The English have a reputation for being very cold.
