mirar, verb:
to look; to look at

You can use mirar on its own:

¡Mira! Un ratón.
Look! A mouse.

Mira a ver si esta ahí.
Look and see if he’s there.

Or you can use it with an object:

Mira esta foto.
Look at this photo.

Mírame cuando me hablas.
Look at me when you’re talking to me.
