llevarse, verb:
to get a surprise, to be surprised

Apart from its core meanings of to carry and to wear, you can use llevar in the reflexive with a noun which describes an emotional reaction to something. For instance, llevarse una sorpresa is to get a surprise, to be surprised.

Se va a llevar una gran sorpresa.
She’s going to get a big surprise.

Other emotion nouns which you can use in this pattern are un susto, a shock, and un chasco, a disappointment.

Se llevó un susto cuando nos vio aparecer con los regalos.
He got a shock when he saw us appear with the presents.

Los estudiantes se llevaron un gran chasco al suspenderse el coloquio.
The students were very disappointed when the symposium was cancelled.
