red
Rojo is a basic color term, and corresponds very closely to red.
una camisa roja
a red shirt
la carne roja
red meat
Remember that if you want to talk about the color red, you use the masculine rojo with el, as with all colors:
El rojo es mi color preferido.
Red is my favourite color.
No me gusta mucho el azul.
I don’t like blue very much.
