emplomadura, noun:
filling
Spanish in some parts of Latin America differs in vocabulary from Spanish in other parts of Latin America, and in Spain, just as American and British English differ. If you happen to need a filling in a tooth in Spain and some parts of Latin America, the word you need is el empaste.
Me tienen que hacer un empaste.
I’ve got to have a filling.
But in Mexico and Chile the word you need is la tapadura, from the verb tapar, to cover.
And in Argentina, the word you need is la emplomadura.
Desk-sized dictionaries will show you these different options on the English side.
