plegar, verb:
to fold
Whether you want to fold paper, or to fold up a chair, plegar is the word you need.
un trozo de papel plegado
a folded piece of paper
From plegar derive the words plegable and plegadizo. They both mean folding, or foldaway, but plegadizo is a more Latin American word.
una mesa plegable
a foldaway table
una silla plegadiza
a folding chair
