idéntico, adjective:
identical, exactly the same

You can translate idéntico as identical or as exactly the same:

Estas sillas son idénticas.
These chairs are identical or exactly the same.

To say that something is identical to something else you use idéntico and the preposition a:

Este cuadro es idéntico a este otro.
This picture is exactly the same as this other one.

You use the same construction when two people are very much alike:

Es idéntico a su padre.
He’s the spitting image of his father, He’s just like his father.
