padre, adjective:
tremendous; terrible

Apart from referring to fathers, you may hear padre used in informal language to emphasize a noun, which it is placed after:

un éxito padre
a tremendous success

Se armó un lío padre.
There was a tremendous row.

Nos llevamos un susto padre.
We got a terrrible fright.
