brazo, noun:
arm
El brazo means arm, in the sense of part of your body:
Me duele el brazo.
My arm hurts.
It can also refer to the arm of a chair, using the same metaphor as English:
Dio una palmada en el brazo del sillón.
She slapped the arm of the chair.
When you take someone by the arm, notice the construction in Spanish:
La tomó del brazo y la llevó a la sala.
He took her by the arm and led her into the room.
