devolver, verb:
to give back; to take back
When you want to give back what you’ve borrowed, devolver is the word you need:
Te devuelvo mañana el dinero que me prestaste.
I’ll give you back the money that you lent me tomorrow.
You also use it to talk about returning favors:
Te devuelvo el favor cuando pueda*.
I’ll return the favor when I can.
If you need to take something back, for example to a shop, you also use devolver:
Devolví la falda porque me quedaba pequeña.
I took the skirt back because it was too small.
