delgado, adjective:
slim; thin

The first meaning of delgado refers to people’s figures:

más guapa y más delgada que nunca
prettier and slimmer than ever

Depending on your point of view, you can translate delgado as slim or thin:

un hombre alto y delgado
a tall, thin man

In the meaning of thin you can use it to describe materials and surfaces which are not thick:

una capa delgada de tierra
a thin layer of soil

un vestido delgado de verano
a thin summer dress
