agenda, noun:
diary; schedule, agenda
Both English agenda and Spanish agenda come from the Latin ‘agenda’, which means ‘things needing to be done’.
But in Spanish, agenda also refers to your diary - in other words, the place where you list the ‘things needing to be done.’
No me compres* una agenda.
Don’t buy me a diary.
As well as being a diary, agenda also refers to all the activities you have to do. In that sense it translates as schedule or agenda.
El Presidente tiene una apretada agenda este mes.
The President has a very busy schedule this month.
la agenda política del país
the country’s political agenda
