station

Estación, like its English cousin, can be used to describe many different kinds of station:

la estación central
the main station

una estación ferroviaria
a railroad station

una estación de servicio
a gas station, a service station

But it’s not just the obvious stations that estación covers. For instance:

Están cambiando mi estación de trabajo por otra mejor.
My work station is being changed for a better one.

una estación espacial
a space station

una estación de radio
a radio station

And remember that there’s another meaning of estación referring to places!

una estación balnearia
a seaside resort

una estación de esquí
a ski resort
